Robert Cormia

Robert Cormia is an accomplished academic and industry professional with extensive experience in chemistry and materials science. Currently serving as a lecturer at San Jose State University since January 2023, Robert is involved in the development of carbon capture programs. As the Director of Chemistry at DAC City, Inc. since January 2019, Robert oversees various initiatives in chemistry. Robert has been an associate professor at Foothill College since April 1996, focusing on informatics, bioinformatics, and nanotechnology. Previous roles include collaborating faculty at NASA-ASL from 2011 to January 2019, where research centered on nanomaterials, and surface scientist at Surface Science Laboratories from 1981 to 1994, managing materials characterization laboratories. Robert’s educational background includes a BA in Chemistry from California State University - East Bay and a certificate in Bioinformatics from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
