Ruth Kapelus

Ruth Kapelus is an experienced communications and media relations professional currently serving as the National Content and Media Relations Manager for Breakthrough T1D Canada since November 2024. With a diverse background, Ruth has worked as a Freelance Writer and Editor, as well as a Sports Writer for Daily Hive since June 2016. Previously, Ruth held the National Content and Media Relations Manager and National Content Manager positions at JDRF/FRDJ Canada from October 2020 to November 2024. Additional roles include Senior Marketing Specialist at Arbor Memorial Inc., Fundraising Consultant at Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund, and a Content Management Specialist at Lifemark Health Corp. Ruth's early career involved responsible public and media relations at March of Dimes Canada from 2005 to 2015. Academically, Ruth holds an MA in History and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in History and Sociology from McMaster University.
