Ellen Moynihan

Ellen Moynihan is an experienced reporter currently with the New York Daily News since December 2015, specializing in breaking news related to crime, fires, emergency weather conditions, public policy issues, court cases, and political events. Previously, Ellen served as a photographer for The Clarion from August 2016 to May 2020 and The Chief-Leader from September 2013 to October 2016, focusing on city government and public events. At Gothamist.com from March 2013 to November 2015, Ellen photographed a variety of stories and contributed writing. Earlier career roles include Managing Editor of The New York Tyrant, Assistant Director at the New York Center for Independent Publishing, and Publicist at Soft Skull Press. Ellen pursued education at Purchase College, SUNY and the University of Redlands, focusing on poetry through the Johnston Center for Integrative Studies.
