Josiah Sweeney has a diverse work experience in engineering roles. Josiah worked at Daimler Truck North America from 2015 to the present. In their current role as the Senior Engineer - Software Lead Architect, they are responsible for leading software development and architecture. Prior to this, they served as the Lead Software Architect and Software Engineer in the Automated Truck Research & Development Center, where they conducted investigations on dense map localization and developed knowledge of sensing and perception software for localization. Josiah also worked as a V2X Engineer, designing a functional specification for a platooning system and developing a Functional Safety standard for communication vehicles. Earlier in their career, Josiah was an Aftermarket Service Diagnostics Engineer and an Electrical/Electronic Engineer Contractor at Daimler Truck North America. Josiah also has internship experience at Lam Research and Schnitzer Steel, where they worked on documentation, testing, and integration of power monitoring systems.

Josiah Sweeney received their High School Diploma from Newberg High School in 2011. Josiah then went on to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from George Fox University, graduating in 2015. In 2018, Josiah completed a Self Driving Car Nano-Degree from Udacity. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Portland State University, with an expected graduation in 2023.
