Dakar Academy Schools

Dakar Academy Schools—multiple campuses with one mission: meet the educational needs of families in West Africa. Through differentiated instruction and teaching techniques, qualified teachers at both of our campuses are dedicated to providing an environment of student-centered learning utilizing a vertically-aligned American curriculum. We offer an international education that is unquestionably Christian and uncompromisingly academic, with a focus on students’ emotional, physical, academic, and spiritual growth. DA’s flagship campus was established in 1961 as the first international and Christian school in Dakar. Today it is a college-preparatory, boarding and day school for grades Pre-K through 12, situated on a six-acre campus in Hann Maristes. DA’s second campus in Mamelles offers the only fully American Elementary program in West Dakar, with English instruction, an English Language Learner (ELL) Program, Explorer Learner Program for middle school and educational resources such as access to the DA library—the largest English language collection in francophone West Africa. Dakar Academy South, our third campus in Senegal, opened in September 2022 and is located near Popenguine in the Petite Côte region. Our student body on this campus represents 11 countries. Our Co-op Campuses are one-room schoolhouses across the region facilitated by Dakar Academy Schools with teachers and Kindergarten-8th grade students learning in a multi-age environment.
