Claire Pooley

Claire Pooley is a Principal Ecologist at Arup since December 2022, with extensive experience in ecological consultancy. Pooley has been an Associate Ecologist at Dalcour Maclaren since 2020 and previously held senior roles at Arup, ARCADIS CONSULTING (UK) LIMITED, and David Clements Ecology Ltd. Responsibilities have included conducting ecological surveys and preparing reports, managing derogation license applications, and overseeing mitigation works. Pooley's earlier roles also include positions at Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council and Vale of Glamorgan Council, where biodiversity management was a focus. Academically, Pooley holds an MSc in Conservation and Biodiversity from the University of Exeter and a BSc (Hons) in Zoology from Cardiff University.
