Louise Spiteri has extensive experience in academia, currently serving as the Chair of Senate and Professor in the Department of Information Science at Dalhousie University since July 1998. Spiteri has also held various leadership roles at Dalhousie, including Interim Chair and Vice-Chair of the Senate, Academic Programs, and Academic Director of the Master of Information Management program. Prior to joining Dalhousie, Spiteri was an Assistant Professor at Wayne State University from 1996 to 1998. Spiteri holds a PhD in Information Studies from the University of Toronto, alongside multiple degrees including an MLIS in Metadata and Archives from Western University, a B.Ed. in History and French from the University of Toronto, an MA in Canadian History, and a BA in History and French from York University.
