Shawn Xiong

Shawn Xiong, Ph.D., serves as a Faculty Associate at the Center for Learning & Teaching at Dalhousie University since July 2021, contributing to the development of a community focused on the scholarship of teaching and learning. Previously, Shawn held roles as a Faculty & Undergraduate Lab Coordinator in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at Dalhousie University, and as an Assistant Teaching Professor at Penn State University, where responsibilities included synthesizing and organizing fundamental principles of Biology and Biochemistry for students. Additional experience encompasses a position as ASBMB Education Associate since 2024, focusing on constructing and administering certification exams, and prior roles at the University of Toronto, including TATP Sciences & Engineering Coordinator, where Shawn enhanced the training of teaching assistants. Shawn's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Manitoba.
