Dallas CASA

Last year, nearly 1,000 child victims were removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect and placed into the protective care of the state. These children need powerful voices to speak for them. Dallas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a non-profit organization that recruits, trains and supervises volunteers who serve as voices for abused children in court. Judges appoint Dallas CASA volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children who have been abused or neglected, helping these children have safe, permanent homes as quickly as possible. Dallas CASA exists so that abused and neglected children in protective care have the chance to become successful adults. With the help of caring advocates, the cycle of abuse and neglect can be broken. Dallas CASA has a strong and steady history demonstrating its ability to grow the number of children it serves. In 2020, Dallas CASA served 3,374 children. The program also recruited and trained 472 new volunteer advocates during the year, increasing the number of active CASA volunteer advocates to more than 1,500. Since the inception of CASA advocacy, Dallas volunteers have helped thousands of children find safe, permanent homes. Today, more than 68,000 advocates serve in nearly 1,000 state and local program offices nationwide. Dallas CASA is a charter member of the National Court Appointed Special Advocates Association and of Texas CASA, We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit social service agency governed by a board of directors.
