Laportia Hurse

LaPortia Hurse is an accounting professional with extensive experience in academia and diverse financial roles. Currently serving as Accounting Faculty and Adjunct Faculty at Brookhaven Community College since September 2016, LaPortia has previously held managerial positions such as Office Manager at Beyond Landscaping LLC and Managing Principal at Stewardship Consulting, LLC, where responsibilities included payroll processing, financial stewardship education, and budget management. Earlier experiences include roles as Tax Staff Accountant at TravisWolff, Fund Accounting Analyst II at Fidelity Investments, and various internships that honed skills in tax preparation and financial analysis. LaPortia holds multiple advanced degrees in Taxation and Finance from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Texas A&M University.
