Huma Yasin

Assistant Public Defender at Dallas County

Huma Yasin is a criminal defense attorney at Spangler Law PLLC since May 2022 and serves as an Assistant Public Defender for Dallas County since March 2021. Previously, Yasin worked as an Eviction Defense Attorney with Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas from July 2020 to March 2021 and was a freelance writer from January 2014 to March 2021. Yasin authored a non-fiction book titled "CONSPIRACY, The True Story of the Fort Dix Five," engaging in extensive research and interviews related to the case. In addition to legal practice and writing, Yasin co-founded and served as Board Chair for Facing Abuse in Community Environments (FACE), promoting the prevention of abuse within the Muslim community, and was a Board Member for the Council on American Islamic Relations Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter. Yasin holds a J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and a degree from the University of Oklahoma.
