Eliza Meredith

Eliza Meredith is an experienced legal professional currently serving as an Assistant Federal Public Defender at the Federal Defender Organizations since August 2023. Previously, Eliza held the position of Judicial Law Clerk at the United States Courts from September 2021 to August 2023 and worked as a Summer Associate at Goldstein, Borgen, Dardarian & Ho in the summer of 2020. Other significant roles include a Legal Extern at the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area, a Capital Habeas Unit Legal Intern at the Federal Public Defender, and a Public Art Program Coordinator for the City of Durham. Eliza also gained valuable experience as a Racial Justice Intern at the Equal Justice Initiative and a Researcher and Writer for the SNCC Digital Gateway Project during time at Duke University. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law (2021) and a Bachelor of Arts in Activating the Past: Narratives and Social Justice in the South from Duke University (2016).
