Michaela Himes is currently the Deputy Chief of the Special Programs Division and the Bond Division Chief at the Dallas County Public Defender's Office, a position held since October 2018, following a decade of service as an Assistant Public Defender in the Mental Health Division since October 2008. Himes earned a Juris Doctor degree from SMU Dedman School of Law (2004-2007), a Master of Theological Studies from Vanderbilt University (2002-2004), and a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and Spanish from the University of the Incarnate Word (1998-2001).
