Sahara Khan

Sahara Khan is an experienced educator currently serving as a High School Aquatic Science Teacher at Dallas Independent School District since August 2019, where additional roles include sponsoring the PRISM inclusion club and the Green Club. Previously, Sahara worked as a Middle School Mathematics Teacher and participated in various extracurricular coaching roles, including Debate and Destination Imagination. Sahara held the position of Teach For America Food Justice Fellow with For Oak Cliff, focusing on food justice policy and community engagement. As a Corps Member for Teach For America, Sahara contributed to diversity and inclusion initiatives. Sahara's earlier experiences also include internships and volunteer roles within environmental organizations, legislative research, tutoring, and facilitating communication for low-income communities. Sahara holds a Master's degree in Education from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor's degree in Spanish and Iberian Studies from The University of Texas at Austin, among other educational achievements.
