Sara Apollonio

Sara Apollonio, O.D. is a Staff Optometrist at D'Ambrosio Eye Care. Dr Apollonio graduated from Athol High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from Clark University followed by Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Massachusetts. Dr. Apollonio then completed a Residency in Ocular Disease at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in White River Junction, Vermont. Her clinical experience and training was furthered by rotations at Dimock Community Health Center, the Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic in Lowell, Massachusetts, the Joslin Diabetes Center in Massachusetts, and New England Eye Commonwealth.

Dr. Apollonio was elected to and served as President of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and is a member of the American Optometric Association and the American Academy of Optometry.

At D'Ambrosio Eye Care, Dr. Apollonio sees patients of all ages for routine eye exams for eyeglasses and contact lenses, evaluation and management of chronic and acute eye diseases, including dry eye, eye allergies, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration (AMD) and glaucoma, and fitting of routine and specialty contact lenses and is happy to provide consultation and information about LASIK.
