Shanil Jayamaha has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Shanil began their career as a Systems Support Engineer at Millennium Information Technologies - LSE Group in 2010, where they troubleshooted production issues and collaborated with development and business analyst teams. From 2014 to 2016, Shanil worked as a Senior Operations Engineer at Sysco LABS Sri Lanka (previously known as Cake Labs and Leapset), where they handled tasks such as assisting customers with their questions and resolving issues, as well as server monitoring and troubleshooting. Shanil then took on the role of Operations Lead at Sysco LABS from 2016 to 2020, where they were involved in building products to revolutionize the customer experience in the food service industry. Following this, Shanil joined CAKE Engineering in 2020 as a Senior Operations Lead, responsible for managing a team. Currently, they are working as a Service Delivery & Operations Engineer at Damstra Technology, starting in 2022.

Shanil Jayamaha began their education in 2003 at BITECH, where they obtained a Diploma in Computer Studies. Shanil then attended the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology from 2005 to 2009, earning a Diploma in Computing and Information Technology. In 2008 and 2009, Shanil studied at Staffordshire University, completing a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computing. Additionally, in 2021, they obtained a Verified International Academic Qualifications certification from the World Education Services. Furthermore, Shanil has pursued various certifications through Code School, including "Building Blocks of Express.js," "Git Real," "Git Real 2," "JavaScript Road Trip Part 1," "JavaScript Road Trip Part 2," "JavaScript Road Trip Part 3," "Powering Up With React," "Real-time Web with Node.js," and "Try SQL."
