Dan Beard Council, BSA
Suzanne Carr, CPA has over 30 years of work experience in finance and accounting. Suzanne started their career as a Staff Accountant at KPMG US in 1989 and worked there until 1991. From 1991 to 1996, Suzanne was an Accounting Supervisor at Macy's/Federated Department Stores. In 1998, they became self-employed and provided accounting services for nonprofits in the Cincinnati area, including bookkeeping, compilations, tax preparation, payroll, and consulting. Suzanne joined Ferguson Enterprises in 2005 as an Assistant Controller and held the position until 2010. During this time, they gained experience in financial management and reporting. Suzanne then joined the Dan Beard Council, Boy Scouts of America in 2010 as the Director of Fiscal Operations/CFO, and in 2022, they became the Chief Financial Officer. Overall, Suzanne Carr, CPA has a diverse range of experience in financial management, accounting, and consulting.
Suzanne Carr, CPA holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting from Miami University. Suzanne has not pursued any additional certifications at this time.
Dan Beard Council, BSA
The mission of the Dan Beard Council is to prepare the over 30,000 young people in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. The Dan Beard Council is the administrative body of the the Boy Scouts of America in the Greater Cincinnati area. A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the council operations are completed funded by the Friends of Scouting annual giving campaign, corporate sponsorships, the popcorn sale, activity revenue, and the United Way. Funding is used for program delivery in the form of camp operations, the Scout Achievement Center, professional and support staff, and the many Scouting events held throughout the council each year.
