Tangela Richter

Tangela Richter is the Director at Dance Theatre of Harlem. Tangela has also served as the Senior Vice President and Managing Counsel at American Express from September 2016 to January 2021, where they led a global team of 50+ attorneys and legal professionals. Prior to that, they were the Deputy General Counsel and Senior Vice President at Lending Club from July 2014 to September 2016, and the Functional General Counsel at Capital One from October 2006 to June 2014. Tangela began their career as a Tax Associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP from October 1997 to August 1999, and then worked as a Corporate Associate at Bass, Berry & Sims from September 1999 to July 2000.

Tangela Richter has a Doctor of Law (JD) from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English from Howard University.
