Haley Nielsen

Haley Nielsen has a diverse work experience in various nonprofit organizations. Haley currently works at Farming Hope as a Development Director, a role they started in August 2022. Prior to that, they worked at the same organization as a Development Manager from March 2021 to July 2022.

Before joining Farming Hope, Haley was a Development Manager at the National Audubon Society from January 2019 to July 2020.

From 2014 to 2019, they worked at The Trust for Public Land with two different roles. First, they served as the Conservation Champions Engagement Officer, where they developed and managed the multichannel strategy and budget for the mid-level giving program. Haley collaborated with various departments to create donor communications and increase donations. Later, they worked as the Coordinator for the Office of the Chief Philanthropy Officer, where they ensured effective flow of information for successful events and managed the portfolio of major donors.

In 2013-2014, Haley worked as an Events Manager at the San Francisco Maritime National Park Association, where they led rental management and coordinated fundraising and engagement events.

Haley began their career in 2011 at As You Sow as a Project Manager, responsible for project management and media-related tasks. Prior to that, they worked at the Santa Barbara Historical Museum as an Education Assistant and Site Manager, where they provided support to the executive and education directors, including managing donors, organizing events, and creating content for newsletters.

Overall, Haley Nielsen has a strong background in development and fundraising, with experience in program management, donor relations, event coordination, and outreach.

Haley Nielsen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz from 2005 to 2009. Following that, they pursued their Masters degree in Museum Studies from San Francisco State University from 2011 to 2013.
