Omar Abubakar

Omar Abubakar has diverse work experience spanning various industries. Omar started their career at KFC as a Team Member, where they demonstrated excellence in preparing and serving products and ensuring customer satisfaction. Omar then worked as a Cashier at Real Canadian Superstore before transitioning to Toastmasters International as a VP of Membership, where they recruited new members and maintained an accurate membership roster.

Omar also worked at Royal Roads Case Competition as a member of NAIT's team, where they prepared creative solutions to business cases from a Human Resources perspective. Omar later joined Magnum Energy Services as an Operations/Human Resources Administrator, managing time entries, shipping/receiving orders, and assisting in recruitment.

In 2011, Omar became a Dispatcher at Co-op Taxi, where they handled various responsibilities, including dispatching cabs, relaying information during emergencies, and ensuring the availability of wheelchair accessible cabs for customers. Omar then joined the Government of Alberta as an Information Officer, developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy that covered media relations, social media, internal communications, and crisis communications.

Omar's most recent role was as a Human Resources Manager at Danihel Group, where they pursued new business opportunities and aligned them with the company's strategy and goals.

Throughout their career, Omar has demonstrated strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a commitment to customer satisfaction and strategic thinking.

Omar Abubakar completed a Master's Degree in Community Economic Development from Cape Breton University from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Human Resources Management and Services at NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) from 2011 to 2015. Omar's education began with a High School Diploma in Social Studies Teacher Education from Jasper Place High School, where they studied from 2007 to 2010.
