Kristian Koktvedgaard has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and organizations. Kristian is currently a board member of the EFRAG Sustainability Reporting Board and a deputy board member of the EFRAG Financial Reporting. Previously, they were a member of the EFRAG Project Task Force on Sustainability Reporting, where they played a key role in developing EU non-financial reporting standards.

In addition, Koktvedgaard served as a member of the IFRS Advisory Council at the IFRS Foundation. Kristian also held various leadership positions at the Confederation of Danish Industries (DI), including the Head of VAT, Accounting, and Auditing.

Koktvedgaard's expertise in VAT policy is evident from their role as the Chair of the BusinessEurope VAT Policy Group, where they represented the views and expertise of European businesses in the field. Kristian Koktvedgaard's education history includes obtaining a degree in Economics from the University of Copenhagen in 1996. In 2014 to 2015, they enrolled in CBS Executive Fonden to pursue a program in Executive Board Leadership & Corporate Governance.
