Julius Važgėla

Julius Važgėla, PhD, is a seasoned data engineering professional currently serving as the Chapter Lead for Data Engineering Monitoring and Screening at Danske Bank since May 2025. Prior experience includes leading the Data Engineering team at Ignitis Group from March 2019 to April 2025, focusing on enterprise-level data governance and collaborating with stakeholders to address data needs. Julius has a strong foundation in data development, having previously managed teams and ensured data quality through various roles, including Data Team Lead and Data Developer at Ignitis Group. Earlier positions at Danske Bank involved ETL implementation and credit data schema development, while experiences at Vilnius University included junior research and laboratory technician roles.
