John Pettersson

John Pettersson has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Their most recent position was at Danske Commodities, where they served as the Director and Head of Market Risk Management and Risk Modelling. In this role, they built and managed a 25-person risk management department and updated complex fair-value calculation models. Prior to Danske Commodities, John worked as the Head of Market Risk Management, Gas at Gasum, where they focused on market risk management for European gas activities. John also served as the Group Risk Controller at Gasum, responsible for group-level risk management. Before Gasum, John worked at Fortum as a Lead Quantitative Analyst and Quantitative Analyst, where they developed hedging concepts, risk exposure models, and pricing algorithms for power derivatives. John also has experience as a Portfolio Manager at Estlander & Partners and as a Trader at Estlander Partners. John began their career as an Instructor and Teaching Assistant during their Ph.D. studies at Hanken. John has a strong background in risk management, market risk, and financial modeling.

John Pettersson completed their education in the field of finance. John obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Hanken School of Economics in 2005, and then pursued a Master's Degree in Finance, which they completed in 2010. During this time, they also obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Finance from the same institution, which they completed in 2015.
