Laboratory Technician at Dante Labs

Ryan Sibartie's work experience begins in 2015 as a second-year pharmacy student at Day Night Pharmacy, where they worked on the front counter and collaborated with a multidisciplinary team to ensure accurate and timely dispensing of items. In 2016, they spent eight weeks shadowing pharmacy staff in various departments at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, including the aseptic unit, dispensary, and wards. During this time, they observed technicians preparing medications and assisted the pharmacist in checking paperwork and preparing infusion bags.

In 2017, Ryan had two separate placements as a third-year pharmacy student, first at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, where they shadowed pharmacists and technicians on wards, closely interacting with patients and healthcare professionals under supervision. Then, they had a two-week placement at Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust, where they shadowed pharmacists on wards, took detailed patient history notes, and communicated with patients.

From 2016 to 2018, Ryan worked at Colliery Pharmacy as a fourth-year pharmacy student. Ryan'sduties included greeting customers, checking, labeling, and dispensing medications, endorsing prescriptions, reconstituting antibiotic suspensions, handling controlled drugs, and disposing of pharmaceutical waste. Ryan effectively communicated with patients to ensure proper medication usage, following the guidance of a pharmacist.

In 2018, Ryan began their Pre-Registration Pharmacist role at Superdrug, where they worked until 2019. During this time, they gained practical experience in a pharmaceutical setting.

From 2019 to 2020, Ryan worked as a Pre-Registration Pharmacist at Rugeley Pharmacy, further expanding their professional experience in the field.

In 2020, Ryan joined Colliery Pharmacy as a Pre-Registration Pharmacist and continued to develop their skills until 2021.

Currently, Ryan is employed at Dante Labs as a Laboratory Technician. Ryan works in day, afternoon, and night shifts, unpacking and testing COVID-19 samples from across the UK. Ryan also assists with warehouse duties to ensure efficient sample handling and uses liquid handling equipment for sample preparation.

Ryan Sibartie completed their education at the University of Wolverhampton. From 2002 to 2005, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc Honours) degree in Biochemistry. Following this, they went on to obtain a Master of Pharmacy (MPharm Honours) degree from the same university, studying from 2014 to 2018. Additionally, Ryan holds certifications in Adult Mental Health First Aid from Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England, which they obtained in December 2017, and in Safety for Safety Delegates from the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, obtained in April 2010.
