Rena Vaughn is an experienced social worker and case manager with a solid background in family services. Since May 2017, Rena has served as a Case Manager at Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services, and concurrently holds the position of Senior Family Services Specialist III at Pittsylvania County, where responsibilities include planning and directing CPS services. Rena's previous experience includes roles as a CPS Family Services Specialist II at the Department of Social Services, focusing on child abuse investigations and family assessments, and as a Foster Home Recruiter and Trainer in the Pittsylvania County Department of Social Services. Earlier, Rena coordinated programs for Volunteer Emergency Families for Children, fostering community engagement for volunteer recruitment. Rena holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Liberty University, obtained in 2013.
Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services
Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services, created in 1972 by a joint resolution of Danville City Council and the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors, is the Community Services Board that provides mental health, developmental, substance use, and prevention services to the citizens of our City and County. A 15-member Board of Directors, which is appointed by Danville City Council and the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors, establishes policy and direction for the Agency. The Board of Directors contracts with its Executive Director to lead, direct, and supervise the Agency's day-to-day operations. Today, Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services has grown to be a large employer in Southside Virginia, with nearly 300 staff members and an annual operating budget in excess of $23 million dollars. In Fiscal Year 2020, our Agency directly served more than 5,000 individuals through more than 50 unique programs in behavioral health and developmental services. Prevention services reached more than 20,000 citizens of Pittsylvania County and Danville City.
