Mahela Liyanage

Mahela Liyanage is currently the Regional Head of Legal at Daraz, overseeing legal operations across eight countries for one of South Asia's largest e-commerce platforms since February 2024. Additionally, Mahela serves as a Senior Lecturer at the Royal Institute of Colombo and a Visiting Lecturer at the Postgraduate Institute of Management. Previous roles include Legal Counsel at Capital Maharaja Group, where responsibilities encompassed managing copyright and content protection, and Attorney-at-Law at Dr. Harsha Cabral PC. With a solid educational background, including an LLM in Intellectual Property & Technology Law from the National University of Singapore and an LLB from the University of London, Mahela brings extensive legal expertise to both academic and corporate environments.
