Priyanka Santha Shanmugam

Priyanka Santha Shanmugam has been working in the food safety and quality industry since 2016. Priyanka began their career as a Quality Specialist and Backup SQF Practitioner at Nature's Touch Frozen Foods. In this role, they were responsible for analyzing the quality of raw material and finished product, as well as assisting in the development of HACCP/Food Safety Plan in accordance with FSMA/FDA to ensure regulatory compliance. In 2019, they joined BakeCo as a Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory Manager and SQF Practitioner. In this role, they implemented the SQF food safety and quality program in the plant which complied with FDA/FSMA standards, coordinated the adoption of the Product Integrity & Traceability roadmap across the organization and undertook regular audits to eliminate high-risk activities and identify opportunities for improvement. Priyanka also developed Nutrition Facts, Ingredient Statement, Allergen Statement, and other disclosure statements for the products with the use of GENESIS product labeling software and approved the product label artworks. Priyanka is currently working as a Quality, Regulatory & Compliance Manager at Daring.

Priyanka Santha Shanmugam obtained a Master's Degree in Food Safety and Technology from the Illinois Institute of Technology between 2014 and 2016. In addition, they hold various certifications including Internal Auditor from the American Society for Quality (ASQ) obtained in February 2020, Implementing SQF Systems (SQF Practitioner) from the SQF Institute obtained in October 2017, FSMA Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) from the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) obtained in February 2017, FSMA Preventive Controls for Human Food (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual - PCQI) from the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) obtained in May 2016, HACCP - Planning and Implementation from the International HACCP Alliance obtained in May 2015, and Genesis Food Product Labeling R&D Professional Training from ESHA Research.
