Dean Motter

Dean Motter is a versatile artist and writer with extensive experience in the comic book industry, functioning as a graphic novelist, freelance writer, designer, and illustrator since 1979. Notably self-employed since 1998, Dean is the creator, writer, and illustrator of MISTER X and has contributed to various works for major publishers, including DC Comics and Marvel Comics. At DC Comics, Dean has served as an artist, writer, and designer, while also managing creative services, overseeing branding and promotional materials. In addition to freelancing, Dean operates Futura Novelty Co., focusing on design and illustration for the entertainment industry. Furthermore, Dean has collaborated with Vanguard Productions on notable book designs and has contributed to publications such as COMIC BOOK ARTIST magazine. With a degree in Fine Art and Music Industry Arts from Fanshawe College, Dean Motter continues to be a prominent figure in the comics community, participating as a guest at Dragon Con and contributing to various other projects.
