Caleb Nichols-Mansell

Caleb Nichols-Mansell is an experienced cultural advisor and creative director with a strong background in promoting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts and education. Currently serving as a Cultural Advisor for DarkLab and A Festival Called Panama, Caleb provides cultural consultancy and manages artist liaison, while also acting as Creative Director for Blackspace Creative Arts and Cultural Hub Pty Ltd, which focuses on authentic local arts and crafts. Previous roles include Social Media Manager for Regional Arts Australia and various positions at the University of Tasmania, including Aboriginal Health Careers Promotion Officer and Aboriginal Student Success Officer, where efforts were made to support Indigenous students in health fields and promote education accessibility.

DarkLab was founded in 2016 by David Walsh, the owner of the Museum of Old and New Art (Mona), with Creative Director Leigh Carmichael. In addition to producing the Dark Mofo festival each year, we work with a range of collaborators on cultural and commercial developments in Australia and internationally, and operate a number of venues in the Hobart CBD.
