Matt Turek

Matt Turek has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Matt currently holds the position of Deputy Director Information Innovation Office (I2O) at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), where they have served since May 2022. Their roles at DARPA also include Program Manager and Acting Deputy Director I2O.

Prior to their work at DARPA, Turek worked at Kitware Inc. from 2007 to 2018. Matt held positions such as Director of Computer Vision, Assistant Director of Computer Vision, Technical Leader, and R&D Engineer during their tenure at Kitware Inc.

Before joining Kitware Inc., Turek worked at GE Global Research from 1999 to 2003 as a Computer Scientist. Prior to that, they worked at GE Healthcare from 1995 to 1999, where they held positions as a Software Engineer and an Edison Engineer.

Matt Turek completed their education with a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, which they pursued from 2000 to 2007. Prior to this, they attained an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Marquette University from 1995 to 1999. Their undergraduate studies were in Electrical Engineering as well, earning a B.S. degree from Clarkson University between 1991 and 1995.
