Uma Ganesan has had a diverse and extensive work experience in finance and management. Uma began their career as an Insurance Financial Examiner at the Connecticut Department of Insurance in 1994. Uma then held the role of Manager of General Accounting at Health Net, where they were responsible for financial functions and led the conversion to SAP. Uma'snext position was as Director, Regulatory & Reporting Analysis at UnitedHealth Group, where they restructured the Finance Department and improved its performance. Ganesan then joined American Express as a Director/Controller, supporting critical business initiatives and providing accounting and reporting decision support. Uma went on to become Chief Financial Officer at Aetna Better Health, where they developed comprehensive plans and oversaw financial management and budgeting processes. Ganesan then worked as Associate Medicaid Director at the Department of Social Services, overseeing various medical operations and implementing reimbursement strategies. Uma later served as Regional Chief Financial Officer at AmeriHealth Caritas before taking on the role of Chief Financial Officer at PerformCare. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Financial Officer at Delaware Transit Corporation. Throughout their career, Ganesan has demonstrated strong leadership, strategic planning, and financial management skills.
Uma Ganesan completed their Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Accounting and Business/Management from Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College For Women in 1979. Uma further pursued their education at the University of Connecticut School of Business and graduated with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Accounting and Finance in 1988.
