The Dartmouth Investment and Philanthropy Program is an undergraduate, student-run organization that manages a $700,000+ equity portfolio. Each year, DIPP distributes a portion of its capital gains to local and international philanthropic endeavors. 

DIPP was established in 2007 after receiving seed funding from a group of Dartmouth alumni who believed in the importance of real, hands-on investing experience for undergraduates. The organization currently has over 100 active members that participate in weekly meetings that feature student-orchestrated stock pitches, economic/market updates, and alumni speakers. Our members meet once per week to pitch novel investment ideas and review DIPP’s current portfolio holdings. Each term, members are assigned to work on two stock pitches, which allows them to expand their knowledge of the financial industry and develop meaningful experiences. DIPP aims to educate members on value investing principles; prepare members for future careers in finance by organizing on-campus/virtual recruiting events; and extend our reach beyond investment management by donating a percentage of our gains as grants to campus-based charitable organizations.

The Investment Team at Dartmouth Investment and Philanthropy Program is responsible for managing and growing a $700,000+ equity portfolio. Team members research and pitch novel investment ideas, monitor current portfolio holdings, and analyze financial data to inform strategic decisions. By engaging in these activities, the team aims to achieve capital gains that support both the fund's growth and philanthropic contributions to charitable organizations.
