Tuna Akmehmet

Tuna Akmehmet is a Dartmouth College student expected to graduate in 2026, currently engaged in various research and leadership roles. As a Dartmouth Economic Research Scholar, Tuna contributes to research alongside Professor Comin, focusing on the International Finance Corporation and the World Bank. Additional experience includes serving as a Research Assistant with the Democratic Erosion Consortium under Professor Russel Muirhead, and holding positions such as War & Peace Fellow and Great Issues Scholar Mentor at the John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding. Tuna's internship at the U.S. Department of State involved supporting policy and diplomacy efforts. Skills in quantitative analysis are demonstrated through roles as an Undergraduate Research Assistant and Data Visualization Specialist for The Dartmouth newspaper. Academic foundations include participation in the TuckBridge Program at the Tuck School of Business and a rigorous high school education at Ankara Atatürk Anadolu Lisesi, supplemented by summer studies in mathematics and computer science at various universities.
