After a few years, Eric returned to Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College from 2000 to 2002, where they pursued an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Network Technology. Additionally, Eric obtained various certifications throughout their career. These certifications include Network+ and A+ from CompTIA in 2002, MCP Windows 2000 Professional from Microsoft in 2001, MCP Windows 2000 Server from Microsoft in 2001, and CCNA from Cisco in 2002.

Eric continued to enhance their skills and knowledge by obtaining further certifications in recent years. In 2016, they acquired the Data Center Certified Associate certification from APC by Schneider Electric. Eric also attained the NetApp Accredited Sales Professional (NASP) certification from NetApp in 2017. In 2019, they became a Veeam Technical Sales Professional (VMTSP) from Veeam Software, and in 2021, they obtained both the Veeam Sales Professional (VMSP) and Veeam Certified Technical Sales Professional (VMTSP) certifications, also from Veeam Software. More recently, in 2022, Eric achieved the NMM-100 certification from Nerdio, as well as the Fortinet Network Security Expert Level 1: Certified Associate, Level 2: Certified Associate, and Level 3: Certified Associate certifications from Fortinet.
