John Somplasky

Chief Information Security Officer & VP, Program Excellence at DSA

John Somplasky is the DSA Chief Information Security Officer. In his role, John is responsible for all aspects of DSA’s information security management system and cybersecurity program. John possesses broad and deep program management experience and technical knowledge combined with outstanding leadership and creative problem-solving skills in both strategic and technical areas.

John joined DSA in 2015 and concurrently serves as the Vice President of Program Excellence and Quality Management. Collectively, John is responsible for the implementation, corporate institutionalization, and maintenance of DSA’s ISO 9001, ISO 27001, CMMI-SVC and CMMI-DEV certifications. He supports Program Manager development and DSA’s program assessments.

Prior to joining DSA, John spent 23 years at Lockheed Martin concluding as a Program Director. He has broad experience in systems engineering, software development, program management, and troubled program recovery. John also has commercial experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, and life sciences industries having served as a Director at First Consulting Group. John is a decorated U.S. Navy veteran, a former nuclear submarine officer, and a qualified Navy nuclear engineer officer.

John holds a Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering (MSE) from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Naval Academy. He is a Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt (CSSMBB).
