Jon Bates

Jon Bates is a seasoned data scientist and entrepreneur with extensive experience in data strategy, machine learning, and quantitative analysis. Currently serving as Staff Data Scientist at Databricks, Jon previously co-founded MamaMend, where a digital health platform was developed to support childbirth recovery. As Co-founder and Data Scientist at Bates Analytics, Jon excelled in building machine learning models and teaching data science courses. Early career positions include Partner and Head of Quantitative Analysis at First New York Securities, where trading strategies were determined, and a Vice President role at Fundamental Advisors, focusing on distressed municipal bonds. Jon holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University.
