Martin Grund

Martin Grund has a diverse work experience, starting as an intern at SAP Labs and later working as a Developer at Travel IQ and SAP. Martin then moved on to roles at Hasso Plattner Institute as a Research Assistant and PhD Student, before becoming a Post-Doc at the University of Fribourg. Martin also worked as a Software Engineer at Cloudera, a Principal Software Engineer at Amazon Web Services, and a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Google before their current role as a Principal Engineer at Databricks. Throughout their career, Martin has focused on software development, engineering leadership, and data governance and security.

Martin Grund earned their Bachelor of Science in Software Systems Engineering at the Hasso Plattner Institute in 2007. They went on to complete their Master of Science in Software Systems Engineering at the same institute in 2008. Finally, Martin obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in In-Memory Database Management from the Hasso Plattner Institute in 2012.
