Omar Khawaja

Omar Khawaja serves as the Field CISO and VP of Security at Databricks since January 2023. At Carnegie Mellon University, Omar has been a faculty member in the CISO Program since January 2015. Additionally, Omar holds board positions at the FAIR Institute, HITRUST, and previously at Leadership Pittsburgh Inc. Omar's extensive experience includes serving as the Global Chief Information Security Officer at Highmark Health, where responsibilities included overseeing a comprehensive information security and risk management program across multiple business units. Prior to that, Omar led product marketing for Verizon's Security Solutions division. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, and a Master of Science in Telecommunications Engineering from George Mason University.
