Alain Mikael Alafriz

Alain Mikael Alafriz has held various roles in the tech industry since 2016. In 2016, they were a Compliance Operations Intern at Uber, where they identified and resolved several pain points in driver applications for legal documents. In 2017, they were a Treasury Dealer at BDO Private Bank Inc. From 2018 to 2021, they were a Data Science Manager at GCash (Mynt - Globe Fintech Innovations, Inc.), where they hired, trained, and managed a total of 6 data scientists and analysts, and saved over 700 million PHP (14.5 million USD) worth of potential losses due to fraud. Most recently, they have been an Analytics Engineer & Product Lead at DataHawk, where they have been responsible for transforming large-scale datasets from various sources into seamlessly analyzable data, and project-managing a team of Data Engineers to ensure the quality delivery of their flagship Data Connector product.

Alain Mikael Alafriz received a Bachelor's degree from Ateneo de Manila University in 2017, majoring in BS Management Engineering / AB Economics - Honors (Double Degree). Alain Mikael is currently pursuing a Master Data Sciences & Business Analytics at ESSEC | CentraleSupélec.
