Alex Jaimes

Alex Jaimes is the Chief Scientist & SVP of Artificial Intelligence at Dataminr. Alex has extensive experience in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, having previously served as the VP of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science at NAUTO, Head of AI/ML/R&D at DigitalOcean, and Advisory CTO & Chief Scientist at Acesio Inc. Alex has also served as the Director of Research/Video product at Yahoo. Jaimes has a wealth of experience in leading teams and driving innovation and growth within organizations. Alex is a highly respected figure in the field of data science and artificial intelligence, and their work has helped Dataminr to become a leading player in the space.

Alex Jaimes completed their Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Columbia University in the City of New York. They also completed a Master of Science in Computer Science at Columbia University in the City of New York. Their undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science in Computing Systems Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes.

They work with Tom Woolway - Vice President, Engineering, Mark Norman - Vice President, Event Detection, and Daniel Dunn - VP Product Engineering. Alex Jaimes reports to Jason Wilcox, EVP Product & Engineering.
