Rafal Mierzwiak

Rafal Mierzwiak has a diverse work experience that spans over two decades. Rafal is currently working as a Software Engineer at Dataminr, where they are the first SRE minded hire outside of the US. Rafal plays a crucial role in operating the global 24/7 platform and serving high-profile customers worldwide. Rafal is also involved in the development of an all-new IDP as part of the wider Platform Engineering initiative. Before joining Dataminr, Rafal worked as a Software Engineer at Reddit, Inc. from 2019 to 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Team Lead for Site Reliability Engineering at Sojern from 2017 to 2019. Rafal also holds experience as a Team Lead for Cloud Operations at Marketo from 2012 to 2016, as well as a Team Lead for Web Operations at Hostelworld.com from 2008 to 2012. Rafal has also worked as a Technical Project Manager at Polimex.net from 2003 to 2005 and as an Internet and Security Engineer at MakoLab from 1999 to 2003. Rafal's early career includes their role as a Team Lead for Platform Operations at Payzone GmbH from 2005 to 2008. With their extensive experience in software engineering and operations, Rafal brings a wealth of expertise to their current position at Dataminr.

Rafal Mierzwiak obtained a Master of Science degree in Information technology/Computer science from the University of Lodz. Rafal studied at the university from 1997 to 2003.
