Yorick De Smet is a seasoned database professional with extensive experience in database administration, specifically with Oracle environments. Currently serving as a Database Administrator at DataSense since January 2019, Yorick has previously held key positions such as Oracle DBA at UCB from December 2007 to December 2018, where responsibilities included daily administration of Oracle databases and performing upgrades to Oracle 12c. Further expertise was gained at Elia, where Yorick managed Oracle databases in both Windows and Tru64 environments, and at Merck, conducting database administration in a highly regulated setting. Early career roles included software engineering at Tele Atlas and Oracle development at AXI, focusing on enhancing data applications. Yorick holds a degree from HOGENT, completed between 1997 and 2000.
