Martha Gimson, RPA, currently serves as the Beaver Dam, Historic Sites and Program Manager at Davidson College since August 2024 and holds a position on the Board of Directors for Hoyle Historic Homestead since December 2021. As a Certified Coach with FASTer Way to Fat Loss since August 2020, Martha has also contributed to academia as a Faculty Lecturer at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte from May 2022 to July 2024 and as a High School Social Studies Teacher at Corvian Community School from March 2022 to June 2024. Martha has experience as an Archaeology Field Technician with Richard Grubb and Associates, Inc. and New South Associates, Inc. in early 2022, and served as an Archaeology Lab Analyst at the Schiele Museum from July 2021 to January 2022. Martha's consultancy work includes conducting surveys and archival research related to historical sites, particularly focusing on locating an unmarked enslaved burial ground at Rural Hill Plantation. Martha holds a Master's degree in Anthropology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
