Director Of Davidson Arts And Creative Engagement at Davidson College

Sherry Nelson has a diverse and extensive work experience. Sherry began their career in 1986 at UNC Charlotte, where they held various roles including Assistant Director of Student Activities, Campus Information Systems Coordinator, and Assistant Director of Campus Programs. Sherry then joined Davidson College in 1993 as the Assistant Director of the Davidson College Union. From there, they took on positions of increasing responsibility, including Director of Friends of the Arts and Artist Residency Programs, and eventually became the Director of Davidson Arts and Creative Engagement in 2016. Throughout their career, Sherry has shown a strong commitment to the arts and has demonstrated their ability to strategically plan and oversee various programs and initiatives.

Sherry Nelson completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte from 1980 to 1984. Sherry then pursued a Masters of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the same university between 1990 and 1992.
