Pam Smithson has over 35 years of work experience in various healthcare organizations. Pam began their career at Saint Agnes Medical Center as a Charge Nurse in the Critical Care unit. Pam then moved on to MedStar Montgomery Medical Center, where they held several leadership positions, including Director of Nursing and Director of Critical Care. Following that, they worked at Davis Health System as the Director of the Emergency Department and later as the Director of Clinical Programs & e~CareCenter at Davis Medical Center. Currently, Pam holds the position of VP and CNO at Davis Health System, where they have implemented several initiatives to improve nurse satisfaction and received the SENIOR FRIENDLY designation for NICHE.
Pam Smithson has a comprehensive educational history in the healthcare field. Pam received their Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Nursing from Catonsville Community College from 1977 to 1980. Pam then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration from Washington Adventist University, completing it from 1995 to 1998. Pam furthered their education by obtaining a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration from Central Michigan University between 1998 and 2007.
In 2016, Pam Smithson pursued a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Western Governors University, which they completed in 2018. Their education has been complemented by various certifications in their field. Pam obtained the certification of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing from the PSI Upsilon Chapter in February 2019.
