Cristina Rushton

Research Associate II at Day Zero Diagnostics

Cristina Rushton has worked in the biotechnology and research fields since 2013. In 2013, they worked as a Biology Teaching Lab Assistant at Northeastern University, where they were responsible for preparing buffers, reagents, agarose gels, gel plates, and bacterial cultures, as well as performing general lab maintenance and other laboratory-based tasks. In 2014, they worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at Northeastern University, conducting independent research concerning trans-generational immunity in the dampwood termite. In 2016, they worked as a Laboratory Technician at Synlogic Therapeutics. In 2017, they interned at Indigo as a Bioprocessing Intern, where they assisted with daily and long-term microbial stability experiments. In 2018, they worked as a Research Associate I at Indigo, ensuring quality and purity of microbial formulations via high throughput CFU plating and physical attribute analysis. Currently, they are a Research Associate II at Day Zero Diagnostics, Inc, where they work in R&D with research scientists to optimize the diagnostic protocol to evolve it into their eventual engineered IVD.

Cristina Rushton attended Lincoln Academy from 2009 to 2013 where they completed their high school education. Cristina then attended Northeastern University from 2013 to 2018 where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
