Industrial Designer at Daylight Design

Oliver Hsu has over five years of work experience. In 2021, they began working as an Industrial Designer for Daylight. From 2019 to 2021, they worked as an Industrial Design Intern at the Center for Design and Space Architecture at the Johnson Space Center for NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration, where they designed and prototyped sleep-station curtains and interior architecture of SEV2C, a pressurized lunar rover. From 2018 to 2019, they worked as a Product Design Intern for Campaign, where they designed and prototyped CNC fabricated office furniture, reviewed incoming fabric cover kit prototypes from new vendors abroad, and assisted with the design of product fulfillment workstations. In 2017, they worked as an Environment Design Intern for Campaign, Inc. and as an Intern for the San Francisco Estuary Partnership, where they worked on vision documents for Richmond and North Richmond, California, with a focus on environmental justice and mitigating environmental risk. In 2016, they worked as an Architectural Model Maker for John Malick and Associates.

Oliver Hsu began their educational journey at Piedmont High School, where they received their high school degree in 2016. In 2015, they attended the California College of the Arts for a 3 week Precollege Design Program in Industrial and Product Design. Oliver then went on to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial and Product Design at Rhode Island School of Design, which they completed in 2020. In 2018 and 2019, Oliver attended Brown University, though they did not pursue a degree. Finally, in 2020, they attended the Product Design and Development Studio at MIT Sloan and RISD Industrial Design.
