Dayton History
Tom Gilliam has a long and varied work experience. Tom began their career in 1996 at Charter Communications as an IT Professional. Tom then moved to Time Warner Cable where they held various roles from 1996 to 2016, including Technical Operations Analyst, Call Center Agent Productivity Analyst, Call Center Support Analyst, and Customer Service Representative. In 2013, they began volunteering as an Instagram Photographer and Admin for Dayton History. That same year, they also founded DaytonGram, a social media platform centering around Instagram, to celebrate and promote positive things in the city. In 2014, they founded Tom Gilliam Photography. From 2015 to 2016, they were a Contributing Writer and Photographer for Dayton Most Metro. Lastly, since 2005, they have been a Guitarist, Vocalist, and Band Coordinator for Ghost Town Silence (formerly The Rebel Set). Since 2016, they have been a Freelance Photographer and Contributing Writer for Cox Media Group Ohio.
Tom Gilliam attended Beavercreek High School from 1993 to 1996 and obtained their Diploma in General Education. Tom then went on to Greene County Career Center from 1994 to 1996, where they earned a Computer Information Systems degree in Computers, Technology. Finally, they attended Sinclair Community College from 1996 to 2001, where they studied Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance.

Dayton History is Montgomery County’s official historical organization. Consisting of Carillon Historical Park, the Archive Center, Hawthorn Hill, Patterson Homestead, Old Court House, and Memorial Hall, Dayton History brings the past to life to understand the present and inspire the future by collecting, preserving, interpreting, presenting and promoting the region’s past.
