Bertie Van Jaarsveld is a Chartered Accountant with extensive work experience in various finance and accounting roles. Bertie started their career as an Article Clerk and Auditor at KPMG Pretoria & UK in 2002 and worked in this position until 2005. Bertie then served as the Financial Manager at IRIZAR SA from 2005 to 2006. From 2006 to 2007, they worked as a Group Accountant at Datacentrix. Following this, they held roles at DB Thermal, including Management Accountant from 2007 to 2009, Financial Analyst from 2009 to 2011, Financial Planning & Analysis Manager from 2011 to 2014, and Financial Controller from 2015 to 2020. Bertie currently holds the position of Finance Director at DB Thermal. Throughout their career, Bertie has demonstrated skills in financial reporting, financial operations, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
Bertie Van Jaarsveld CA (SA) completed a Master's degree in Taxation in 2007 at the North-West University / Noordwes-Universiteit. Prior to that, they obtained their CA (SA) Part 1 & 2 qualification in 2002-2003 from SAICA. Bertie also holds a B Comm Hons degree specializing in the Certificate in the Theory of Accounting, which they earned from the North-West University / Noordwes-Universiteit between 1998 and 2001.
