Shavhani Mutshutshu

Shavhani Mutshutshu (M.Eng) has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. They started their career as a Trainee Process Engineer at Cobra Watertech in 2003. They then worked as a Metallurgist/Process Engineer at Atlantis Foundries (Pty) Ltd in 2005. In 2006, they joined DCD Energy, Marine and Technology as an SHE Manager/QA Manager/QA Welding Engineer. They later moved to Murray & Roberts as a Quality Control Manager, where they represented the Quality Control department for Genrec (Pty) Ltd. In 2009, Shavhani joined GE Power Alstom as a Project Quality Manager. They then worked at Bombardier Transportation as the Head of Site QHSE & Information Systems from 2014 to 2016. Currently, Shavhani is the Deputy Managing Director at DB Thermal, having taken on the role in 2016. In July 2021, they were promoted to the position of Managing Director and General Manager at the same company.

Shavhani Mutshutshu (M.Eng) completed a Master of Philosophy in Business Management - Corporate Strategy from the GIBS Business School (Gordon Institute of Business Science) in 2022. Prior to that, from 2007 to 2009, they pursued a Masters in Engineering in the field of Metallurgy & Materials at the University of the Witwatersrand. Their undergraduate education was also at the University of the Witwatersrand, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgy & Materials from 1997 to 2002.

In addition to their formal education, Shavhani Mutshutshu has obtained several certifications. These include the Diversity & Inclusion Certificate from DDI | Development Dimensions International in 2020, the REAL for Senior Leadership certificate from the Centre For Creative Learning in 2020, and the Executive Development Program Certificate from the University of Stellenbosch Enterprises (Pty) Ltd in 2019. They also hold certifications in Commercial Awareness - Tenders and Projects (2011), Welding Diploma (2011), Project Management Program (2010), and Fabrication Inspection Level 1 (exact year not specified).
